The Texas Medical Center is the largest medical center in the world with 31 million sf of patient care, education, and research space located on over 1,000 acres of land. The expansion of the Texas Medical Center consists of $7.1 billion of approved building and infrastructure improvements through 2012. As part of this expansion, The Methodist Hospital System recently opened its Outpatient Center, which consists of 1.6 million sf of outpatient care space. Methodist and the Texas Medical Center play an integral role in Houston and the surrounding region with a total of six million patient visits annually and a $14 billion regional economic impact annually.
Sid Sanders, Senior Vice President of Methodist Hospital System, will discuss Methodist's system-wide expansion and the Outpatient Center, which has redefined the way patients experience healthcare. Mr. Sanders is responsible for Methodist's $2.5 billion capital construction program as the SVP of Construction, Facilities Design, and Real Estate.
Bob Stott, Executive Vice President of Texas Medical Center, will discuss the overall expansion of the Texas Medical Center and its role in the community. He will address the direction the Texas Medical Center is heading over the next ten years and its most recent Master Plan.
