Please join the ULI Young Leaders, in conjunction with the Rice Real Estate Club, as we welcome Tim Williamson, Senior Vice President and Manager of Wells Fargo Real Estate Banking Group in Houston. Mr. Williamson holds a B.B.A. and an M.B.A. from Baylor University, and began his career with First City National Bank Houston before later joining Guaranty Bank, where he headed the Houston commercial real estate loan production office. He joined Wells Fargo in 2003, and is now responsible for commercial real estate lending to developers, REITS, and homebuilders based in Austin, Houston, San Antonio, and Louisiana. His group provides a broad range of real estate financial products to well-capitalized commercial and residential real estate developers, operators, and investors, such as privately held companies, real estate funds, and public and private REITS. These products include senior secured and unsecured debt on a recourse and non-recourse basis, mezzanine debt, equity, and structured debt products.

We have recently seen signals of improving conditions in the capital markets with respect to commercial real estate lending. Mr. Williamson will discuss his perspective on the downturn of the past two years, how commercial banks have dealt with troubled real estate loans, and where the market stands today. Most importantly, he will discuss what to expect moving forward into 2011 and how lending for real estate will operate differently than in recent past. This will prove to be a timely update relevant to all facets of the commercial real estate market.

The event will be held in the Grand Hall at the Ley Student Center on the Rice Campus, which is directly east of the Business School (McNair Hall). Attendees can park in the visitor parking garage underneath McNair Hall and walk across the street to the Student Center. Once inside, the Grand Hall is a straight walk down the hallway. Light food and beverages will be provided.
