The new administration of Mayor Annise Parker swept change and new leaders into key City departments. Taking us inside our local government, three department heads will explain their priorities, the opportunities and challenges they see for public + private real estate development partnerships. Panelists will discuss the latest information on new ordinances affecting real estate, as well as 380 agreements, the Proposition 1 drainage fee, and other topics of interest to Houston real estate professionals. The panelists also will share information on their participation, along with Mayor Parker and METRO CEO, George Greanias, in a year-long fellowship with The ULI Daniel Rose Center for Public Leadership in Land Use. The Houston team of Fellows joins three other teams led by the mayors of Charlotte, Detroit and Sacramento, as they seek leading-edge solutions to difficult land-use challenges.
